Capricorn Seakayaking have run school programs in Perth and throughout Western Australia since 1999. Program duration can last from 1 hour "tasters" to multi-day expeditions that can include: environmental education and interpretation, aboriginal awareness (delivered by aboriginal people), local history both aboriginal and european. We are strong supporters of experiential education, and "challenge by choice" for individuals. We cater for ages from 10 year olds to adult learners. We also offer snorkelling, camping, light bushwalking, and learn to surf. We have outdoor education industry peers who use use as subcontractors to provide "other" specialist services such as: caving, climbing, abseiling, sailing. Program Destinations include: The Perth Region: Rottnest Island, Penguin and Seal Island - Shoalwater Island Marine Park, the Swan River The South West Region: Walpole, Margaret River area (Blackwood River, Augusta, Hamelin Bay and Geographe Bay) The North West Region: Shark Bay, Ningaloo Reef, and Dampier Archipeligo. Capricorn Seakayaking is known for its safety. All guides are Australian Canoeing qualified, and most have degrees, some post graduate. Most are Western Australian locals. Risk Analysis and Management Plans, and Emergency Communication & Evacuation Plans are available for all destinations. We have co-developed the Environmental Citizenship program (Certificate 1, 2, 3, & 4), with Millennium Kids and Challenger TAFE. Youth Leadership programs are a passion of ours. Students can obtain Australian Canoeing Basic Skills Awards during seakayaking programs, for a small fee. |
