ABOUT PENGUIN & SEAL ISLANDS
OCTOBER – APRIL

Capricorn Seakayaking offers one of Perth's best Eco Adventure Wildlife day tours at Penguin & Seal Islands.

1 Day Wildlife Adventure

Penguin & Seal Islands are part of Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, which is approximately 45 minutes drive south of Perth city or 5 minutes drive south of Rockingham. Sea kayaking is a fantastic way to explore these rugged limestone islands (approx 1 km offshore) and their unique wildlife including; Australian Sealions, Little Blue Penguins, colonies of Pelicans and thousands of other sea birds that use these islands as safe nesting places. We also offer snorkeling as a way of exploring these shallow waters, limestone reefs and fish life. Sometimes we see Dolphins cruising by.

FULL DAY WILDLIFE ADVENTURE
SEA KAYAKING & SNORKELING TOUR – FROM $149

Spend a full day sea kayaking through the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park and get up close and personal with Australian wildlife in and out of the water. Take a guided walk to explore Penguin Island and enjoy snorkeling among the limestone reef full of marine life. It’s a fun filled day out!

ITINERARY: After unloading our kayak trailer our guides fit you with sun shirts, hats, life jacket and snorkeling gear. We provide a brief kayak lesson; cover some basic safety concerns and head off kayaking. We spend the morning kayaking through the islands passing the Australian Sea Lion colony- these magnificent creatures often play and swim between the kayaks. We provide a yummy morning tea, visit the Fairy Penguin feeding show, then we take a leisurely stroll around the island. We usually snorkel before lunch. Our guides prepare and you fill fresh bread rolls, with meats, fish, cheese and salad veges etc. We then paddle around Penguin Island (wind permitting), kayak back to our vehicle, hopefully with the sea breeze, pack up and head home. We aim to finish the tour around 2pm, pack up and then drive back.

WE PROVIDE: Double sea kayaks (traditional sit-inside, with rudders for comfortable cruising), paddles, life jackets, long sleeve sun shirts, sun hats dry bags for valuables, snorkeling gear, entry fee into the Penguin Discovery Session (feeding show), qualified guide, morning tea, lunch (we can cater for special dietary requirements), transport from Perth or Fremantle, smiles, wildlife and a great time!
