About Us

History

Capricorn Seakayaking was established in 1998 by Hal Paine who is the current owner and manager.

We have been running eco-adventure tours throughout Western Australia since 1999.

Our equipment
Sea Kayaks

All our sea kayaks are top of the range, imported from New Zealand. They are more stable and comfortable for the paddler. We use Mission Kayaks, Barracuda Kayaks and Paddling Perfection.

Customer comfort

Our double sea kayaks have built in back rests and footpegs for customer comfort. We supply long sleeved sun shirts, sun hats, snorkel mask and fins, and wetsuits (in the cooler months).

Food

We provide delicious healthy food and can cater for individual dietary needs eg, vegetarian and lactose intolerant.

Our Staff

Our staff are experienced and qualified sea kayak guides who are committed to looking after you and giving you an excellent experience on every level.

All our staff our qualified sea kayak instructors with Australian Canoeing, the national peak body.

They all have certificates in First Aid, Surf Rescue and Working with Children Clearance certification.

The 2012 CSK Staff include: Hal Paine, Neridah Grieves, Kevin Piper, Brad Allen, Sandy Robson, Keely Robinson and others.

Hal Paine, owner and manager

Hal Paine is originally from New Zealand and an avid surfer. He was drawn to the stunning coastline of Western Australia in his 20s and has been exploring it ever since.

Australian Canoeing Sea Kayak Instructor
Australian Canoeing approved National Training Provider (Registratiion No 27), which authorizes us to run kayak courses, both training and assessment.

Hal is a past member of the Industry Standards Panel of Outdoors WA, our peak industry state body.

Hal is a past member of the Coral Coast Parks Advisory Committee, which provides community input into the management of Ningaloo Marine Park and Cape Range National Park.

Safety

We have $10,000,000 in public liability so you can feel safe knowing that you are covered.

Capricorn Seakaying has done a risk management analysis of all its activities and sea kayaking destinations.

We voluntarily contracted an independent safety auditor to review all aspects of our business and report on ways to improve overall safety
